Paula Pender
Sales Executive
As a licensed real estate agent at Hometown Property Partners, I work with home sellers and buyers. Having lived in Riverstone my entire life and raised my family here, I have developed strong community connections. Thanks to this, I am one of the top 20% of agents nationwide on Rate My Agent.
Many of my clients feel more comfortable working with a female agent. My intuition and excellent interpersonal skills mean I can support sellers through the entire process with empathy and discretion at what can often be seen as a stressful time.
My background is in legal work and construction, firstly working with a legal practice for seven years in trust accounts and conveyancing. This experience helps me handle issues solicitors raise during the home sales process. Following this, I worked for a company in the Hawkesbury, handling zoning regulations and council applications for development proposals. These positions gave me an excellent grounding in real estate, contracts, zoning and council planning.
Hometown Property Partners approached me to grow their sales team, and I fell in love with real estate at my first open home. For me, real estate came naturally and right from the start, I was getting listings and selling homes. After I completed my real estate agency qualification and received the Centurion Award and Rookie of the Year for Australasia Award in my first year.
Riverstone is a fantastic area to live and work, with a good mix of different generations and easy access to the CBD, though it still has that rural feeling. My buyers are a combination of property investors looking for growth opportunities, first-time home buyers, and repeat clients looking to upgrade or downsize. Being a Riverstone local resident means I can offer quality information about schools, planning requirements and upcoming developments, town services and historical growth. Discretion is essential, and people entrust me to handle their matters confidentially.
When providing an initial market appraisal for a property, I am realistic with pricing right from the start. Once I have taken on a property listing, I will advise vendors on how to present their homes, even on a small budget. Clear marketing messages with strong promotion of the property’s best features bring in more buyers and increase competition. Looking after buyers is also essential, and my approach is to be welcoming, to get to know prospective purchasers and match them with the right house.
New homes are much easier to sell as they still have building warranties and seem to sell themselves. House and land package sales are normally obtained through an open portal and available to almost any agent. To actually obtain a listing from an owner of an existing property, then to sell this character or unique home it is imperative to have experience and much required skill and this is what I pride myself on.
Clients praise me for my approachability, sensitivity, and strong negotiation skills. Depending on the circumstances, a home for sale can be an emotional time. Still, I support my clients through this entire sales process, from answering questions, being available for discussions, and offering clear direction. What I love about my job is seeing the expression on a buyer’s face when they walk into a home, and they know it’s ‘the one’, along with helping my vendors move on to the next stage of their lives with confidence and optimism. I also like to offer assistance to my vendors if they need help with their next purchase as their friend, not just their sales agent.
Please do not hesitate to call me if you want help and support selling your northwest Sydney home.
